What is the Magical Moments Project?
In 2010 it seemed that the economy was not getting any better so Red Carpet Events decided to focus on the most expensive time for parents, the high school prom.
The Magical Moments Project allows young women enjoy one of the most important events of their lives: their high school prom! Every year Magical Moments provides free dresses, shoes and accessories to young ladies. Not only do we provide the items to make this day special, but also we feature guest speakers and life style education for these young ladies. Prom is a special time for any teenage girl, and choosing the right prom dress is just one of the major highlights of the big event.
Hundreds of high school students can’t afford a prom dress, and that’s where we all come together as a community and become fairy Godmothers. The day of the event young ladies are able to pick out a dress, a pair of shoes, a handbag and jewelry. One of the most exciting features of the event that the ladies truly enjoy is the hair and makeup tips from stylists who donate their time.
We want to give these girls a prom night that they will never forget! This event also raises self-esteem for these young girls. Every year we ask that the community clean out their closets of these items for these young ladies. Every year this event grows and we are looking forward to working with you.
Volunteer
Who can become a volunteer? People like you who wish to share their time and talent to provide girl with encouragement. This is your opportunity to work with young teenage girls directly. Helping to make Magical Moments a success and impact in a young ladies life means a lot to us and to you.
As a volunteer, you will be:
Helping girls pick out that perfect dress Assist with the “day of” operations Build self-esteem Share your personal prom stories and experiences Meet new people
Join other Magical Moments of Louisville volunteers with contributing your time, energy, and enthusiasm! It’s challenging, worthwhile and fun!
